EGCU Supports Education Access with New Initiative
The Evergreen Credit Union Education Foundation has been established as a nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to education via awarded scholarships.
This new foundation will be awarding scholarships to Evergreen members for their postsecondary educational endeavors, including attending college and trade schools. “People helping people is a core philosophy of credit unions and the Education Foundation is just one of many ways we’re fulfilling that,” said Jason Lindstrom, President/CEO of Evergreen Credit Union and Board Chair of the Evergreen Credit Union Education Foundation.
Starting spring semester 2026, the Evergreen Credit Union Education Foundation will award four scholarships of $2,500 to Evergreen Credit Union members (or their immediate family) who plan on attending an accredited college, university, or vocational school. Applicants must complete questions about their postsecondary education plans, community involvement, and the activities and experiences that shaped the applicant’s character.
“Whether you’re graduating high school, gearing up for university, or looking to transition into the trades at 40, applying for a scholarship with the Evergreen Credit Union Education Foundation is a great option and can help lighten the financial load for secondary education,” said Jeanna Coates, Community Partnership Manager at Evergreen Credit Union and a Board Member of the Evergreen Credit Union Education Foundation.
The Evergreen Credit Union Education Foundation is currently accepting donations to add to the scholarship fund. All money donated to the Education Foundation will go directly to funding four scholarships awarded annually.
