Cruising to the Travis Mills Foundation Plane Pull
Evergreen Credit Union is proud to participate in the Travis Mills Foundation Plane Pull on September 26, an annual event that supports the Travis Mills Foundation’s programming, community efforts, and outreach work.
The annual Plane Pull event brings over 40 teams who compete to pull a 70-ton 757 FedEx plane across 20 feet of tarmac in the fastest time. The fastest team and highest fundraising team are recognized at the end of the day.
The Travis Mills Foundation supports post-9/11 recalibrated veterans and their families through various programs that help veterans overcome physical and emotional obstacles, strengthen their families, and provide well-deserved rest and relaxation.
“The Plane Pull is a powerful reminder of what happens when people come together,” said Travis Mills, retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and founder of the Travis Mills Foundation. “Every team that grabs that rope is helping provide opportunities for healing, growth, and post-traumatic growth for recalibrated veterans and their families.”
Evergreen Credit Union is sponsoring the event and is eager to bring their full team of 25 staff members and their families to the Plane Pull at the Portland Jetport. “The Plane Pull is an amazing event for everyone involved,” said Jason Lindstrom, Evergreen Credit Union’s President/CEO. “I can say from personal experience that the energy from the participants, observers, and vendors is unmatched. Everyone is there to support an incredible organization creating safe spaces for veterans; that’s a cause Evergreen can very easily get behind.”
Last year’s Plane Pull brought together hundreds of supporters who raised over $200,000 in support of the Foundation’s mission. This year, organizers are looking to welcome even more teams and sponsors to help fuel the Foundation’s continued growth, expand access to Warrior PATHH, and ensure more recalibrated veterans and first responders can benefit from its programs.
